Most breads freeze beautifully and will maintain their quality for at least three months once frozen. And when it comes to long-term storage, freezing bread is a far better option than refrigerating it.
Here’s a tip to make freezing bread even more convenient: slice bread and bagels before freezing. Once the bread is frozen, you can simply grab as many slices as you need at a time.
A slice of frozen bread will usually thaw within half an hour at room temperature (refrigerate if not using immediately thereafter). You can also thaw frozen sliced bread within a few seconds in the microwave or warm it in a conventional oven for a few minutes.
Better yet, you can just pop frozen sliced bread directly into your toaster — it doesn’t get any easier than that!
